As a copywriter, research is one of the biggest fundamentals of the job. Obtaining the knowledge to seek out your hidden gems.

How words are used and laid out is just like the miners who burrowed into the earth. They had to set up proper beams and structures to prevent a cave in.

Just like mining the words used are your support beams. Drawing your customers into your world. You guide them with your story. You explain why they need your product or service. What it can do for them. Then give them proof and reason for their decision.


2 Corinthians 8:24 Therefore openly before the churches, show them the proof of your love and of our reason for boasting about you.

No matter whether you are selling a product or service. You must give an abundant amount of proof. That your offering can fill their need.

Buyers do not like to be sold. Buying is done on an emotional level. As such you must not only give them the reason to buy but why it was a good idea to buy.

Buyer’s remorse is why a lot of businesses get returns/cancelations.

How do you stop this?

Buy given proof, an abundant amount of proof. Show them that their decision to make the purchase was right.

How do you give that proof of evidence? Two main ways are product specifications and testimonials.

Product Specifications:

Product specifications can be that gold nugget(s) that sets you apart from your competitors. A piano company hired a copywriter. The advertising they had was not getting the expected returns. The copywriter went to the factory to see how they made their pianos. As he watched them work, he noticed a little metal bracket. Asking about the bracket he found out for just a couple of pennies per piano it would help make this company’s pianos sound as good 30 years after the purchase as the day it was made.
